Kèr Bipdàj (/bip/ /dəʤ/ [blur] [abundant; lush]) is a subtropical Town located in the Kririsi̊mù Region of the Tetbur Commune.

The name Kèr Bipdàj is derived from the Tauric language, as Kèr Bipdàj was founded by Khê Cecil, who was culturaly Tauric.

Climate

Kèr Bipdàj has a yearly average temperature of 28°C (82°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a hot 32°C (89°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a pleasant 24°C (75°F). Kèr Bipdàj receives an average of 289 cm/y (113 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Kèr Bipdàj covers an area of nearly 4 km2 (1 mi2), and an average elevation of 2060 m (6758 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Kèr Bipdàj was founded durring the early 9th century, by Khê Cecil. The establishment of Kèr Bipdàj was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Khê Cecil electing to pay people to resettle in Kèr Bipdàj.

Kèr Bipdàj was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the early 9th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kèr Bipdàj is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Kèr Bipdàj is buildings are arranged arround a single restrictive cobblestone mainstreet with many smaller streets branching off of it which gives the town a over all rectangular shape, albit one warped and twisted by the nature of the curves of the main road. The town is protected by a humble stone fence which is tall enough to provide adiquite cover for defenders to fire from, but no more than that. Unfortuantly, these peasent-grade are in extreem disrepair, so much so that one cannot tell if they are decaying from a lack of mantance or damage incured.

Even the most brief look arround Kèr Bipdàj has a good chance of putting a church or shrine into the center of your view. The town is most certainly a god fearing community. It’s also definitely a god loving community. THe streetcornors are occupied by preachers, with the occasional intersection playing host to an actually friendly debate relating to the merits of various gods. Even the less popular as well as the less politically loved gods seem to have a space in Kèr Bipdàj, there’s even shrines to gods known to the region only through hearsay.

Cultural Notes

While Kèr Bipdàj might ostensibly be ruled by some other power, real control lies with the senior members of the local craft and labor guilds. Their decisions have the practical weight of law, and much of their time and effort is spent squeezing out competitors and parceling out economic opportunities in the community. Some guilds might have little or nothing to do with their original trade, and now exist purely as shells for political influence.

Kèr Bipdàj's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used makes use of a large oblong hall or building with double colonnades and a semicircular apse and symmetrical central-plan, resulting in buildings with a square central mass and four arms of equal length. Decorative features included domed rooves, arches, soaring spaces, and sumptuous decoration: marble columns and inlay, mosaics on the vaults, inlaid-stone pavements, and sometimes gold coffered ceilings.

History

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century Horror Mountain, an iconic vista located neare Kèr Bipdàj, proved to be volcanic when the mountain erupted. The eruption was isolated to the area around Kèr Bipdàj, which was swallowed in ash, lava flows, and pyroclastic gasses. Kèr Bipdàj lost 236 people, 231 livestock, and 54 buildings in the disaster. The event is forever remembered as the Day of Horror's Wrath.
